Sydney based pop band circa 82-85.

Started off post punk/Gang of Four influenced with their first EP (http://windyweather-bimble.blogspot.com/2008/11/deckchairs-overboard-thats-way-ep-1982.html). The released a single off the EP "That's the way" the B-side "Carried Away" is here.

1983 influence by early hip hop ala McLaren with the "Shout" single, (a year before the Tears for Fears hit).

1984 saw them go more mainstream pop with the "Walking in the Dark" 7" and subsequent disappointly bland LP (http://ausrock.blogspot.com/2007/04/deckchairs-overboard-st-1985.html) which had a further single "Fight for Love" which went for a soul sound.

The soon disbanded after this.

I bought the 'walking in the dark' single. Never really understood why it didn't make any sort of a dent in the charts. Another one those great Australian pop hits that never was. - Thanks for posting it.
